We are dedicated to raising Heritage Shorthorns with minimal inputs, emphasizing  grass, minerals, and sunshine. Known as the "universal breed improver," our Shorthorns boast a rich history and lineage tracing back to the original 1822 Coates Herd Book. Heritage Shorthorns are a versatile breed, celebrated for easy fleshing, excellent milk production, and docility.

DOB: 10/10/24

Gen: A1/A2, Pp, DSF, E226XF, F94LF, nt419F, PHAF, THF

Nutmeg is another Kinnebar Leader 9th daughter that was produced through embryo transfer. Her dam is a large dual-purpose cow with an excellent udder and exceptional milking ability. We expect Nutmeg to follow in her footsteps when she fully matures. She instantly became our new logo when we noticed a heart shape on her forehead as a calf.

06M is homozygous polled and red like his sire Ball Dee Perfect Count who was selected by the Canadian Shorthorn Association to represent the breed at the 1970 Cattlemen's Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada. BDPC was a large bull weighing over 2500# and considered a foundation sire among Heritage breeders with notable offspring, such as Four Point Major (nicknamed "Massive Major") and Aberfeldy Supreme, known for his 4.4# ADG.

WINDYCREEK SUPER SAFFRON 03M ET

  • Non-Heritage

DOB: 4/15/2024

Gen: Polled, DSF, E226XF, F94LF, nt419F, PHAF, THF

Saffron is sired by a legendary heritage bull, Mandalong Super Flag. However, the maternal side of her pedigree makes her a modern beef Shorthorn. In 1972, Super Flag was imported from the Mandalong Stud in Australia by Dr. Carter of Alberta, Canada. His genetic influence is found in a substantial percentage of Shorthorn cattle in Canada today. Saffron has displayed tremendous growth and we expect her to have all the characteristics of an excellent Shorthorn cow when she fully develops.
